MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Associates degree in Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Electronics Technician, or Engineering
  • Four+ (4+) years of experience in systems analysis and design techniques
  • Demonstrated experience applying software patches and updates to Program of Record (PoR) systems
  • Demonstrated experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on Information Systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Experience developing and maintaining installation, configuration and security procedures
  • Experience performing and reporting on functional testing of software to include:
  • Unit Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • System Testing
  • Acceptance Testing
  • Experience performing and reporting on one of more of the following:
  • Security Testing
  • Performance Testing
  • Usability Testing
  • Compatibility Testing
  • Demonstrated experience providing cybersecurity services for systems and software in accordance with Department of Navy (DoN), Department of Defense (DoD), and/or Intelligence Community directives, policies, and procedures
  • Possess a current DoD Secret security clearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in in Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Electronics Technician, or Engineering
  • Four+ (4+) years of experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
  • Possess applicable industry Certifications
  • Demonstrated experience with vulnerability analysis and mitigation
  • Demonstrated experience performing and reporting on functional and non-functional software testing on DoD PoR systems
  • Demonstrated experience providing cybersecurity support for DoD programs or projects
  • Thorough understanding of NSWC operations

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Works with other maintenance and engineering personnel to diagnose problems, implement configuration changes, update systems, apply and test patches, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Installs new and rebuilds existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Develops and maintains installation, configuration and security procedures
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Provides cybersecurity services for systems developed under this contract that enforce, comply with, and support Department of the Navy (DoN), DoD, and Intelligence Community cybersecurity directives, policies, and procedures. To include technical, functional, operational, and managerial services necessary to ensure the security of software.
  • Ensures software complies with requirements throughout design, development, and deployment; if vulnerabilities are discovered, makes all necessary changes to software in order to mitigate said vulnerabilities
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of information systems
  • Installs and supports software, troubleshoots software issues, supports servers and networks, and responds to IT security incidents
  • Provides software troubleshooting and resolution for specified software applications
  • Performs and reports on functional testing of software, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing
  • Performs and reports on non-functional software testing, including security testing, performance testing, usability testing, and compatibility testing
