Description

The Scheduling Call Center Representative / Patient Intake Services Specialist is responsible for the registration and scheduling of Twin Cities Orthopedics patients while maintaining excellent customer service.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5pm at our New TCO Bloomington location. Mandatory in office training for 6 months, remote work after successful completion of in office training. Local residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin.

A $1,500 sign-on bonus will be offered, payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for sign-on bonus.

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately and efficiently schedule new and existing patients in the current practice management system.
  • Answer a high volume of inbound calls in a timely, pleasant and professional manner.
  • Communicate all pertinent patient information regarding their call to include: appointment information, directions, check-in times, referral information, and copayments.
  • Verify and document insurance information as defined by current business practices.
  • Maintain and update assigned appointment reports, new patient reports or other assigned scheduling modules.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:



  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred
  • Previous experience in a call-center environment preferred

Ability to:



  • Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
  • Complete job required training.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
  • Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
