Engineering & Product Development Internship

Coperion K-Tron is looking for an Engineering Internand the position will be located in Salina, KS. This is a paid opportunity and a monthly housing stipend is available if student lives more than 30 miles from work location.

Work You'll Do

The Engineering Intern will work in varied positions in production (fabrication, assembly, test lab and R&D) and will also assist engineers on current projects.

  • Exposure to the OEM facility with metal fabrication and system process design and invaluable professional development.

  • Be an active participant in various engineering projects and assist in areas of the facility to support our product lines.

  • Collaborate daily with production and the electrical, mechanical and R&D engineering teams.

  • Conduct experimental tests, analyze test data, and write test reports.

  • Assist production and R&D team with putting new designs into production.

  • Some travel in the US may be required to assist engineers for job commissioning and startup.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Certified or proficient in a 3D modeling software such as Solidworks or Inventor.

  • Mathematical abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to evaluate urgency of situation and prioritize tasks.

  • Organized with an attention to detail.

  • Ability to carry out instructions provided in written and oral form.

  • Proficient in using current Windows Operating System for workstation and server applications.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrates good impersonal skills.

  • Technical training skills a plus.

  • Ability to work under limited supervision.

Education

  • University enrollment with at least two years of course work completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

  • Preferred candidate working towards a BS in mechanical, electrical or chemical but other engineering disciplines with proper interest/background will be considered.

  • Technical training.
