General Purpose of Job: Responsible for the delivery of exceptional coordination, support, assistance, and administration required to successfully execute key initiatives for the Caregiver Benefits and Service team. Essential Duties
- Primary HR reception coverage at the Human Resources front desk area.
- Provides administrative support to Caregiver Benefits and Caregiver Service teams, including management of the HR and Benefits inbox, new Caregiver benefit communications, etc.
- Responsible for generating and distributing status change letters, missed benefit premium deduction invoices, and life insurance benefit change letters, along with including benefit documents as part of the letter process.
- In a timely and accurate manner, receive, record, and deposit cash receipts received from caregivers or vendors on behalf of the department by following department specific procedures.
- Oversees the ordering and distribution of office supplies for the Human Resource Department.
- Coordinates input, reviews for accuracy, records changes, and may generate reports for items such as benefit census, union information requests related to benefits, missed benefit deduction payments, incident only Caregiver injury reporting, etc., entering information into the HRIS/Benefit vendor/Work Comp TPA systems, etc.
- Process initial step of the termination process, unemployment claims, and QMCSO questionnaires.
- Process tuition reimbursement requests including RN to BSN, nursing certifications, and professional certifications.
- Review new employee files including entering license, education, and emergency contact information into HRIS system.
- Participates in and/or coordinates items for special projects such as new caregiver orientation, open enrollment, resident orientation, benefit plan audits, HRIS system change testing, new benefit plan/options implementation and roll-out, transition of newly acquired entities, etc.
- Evaluates processes and implements changes on a continuous basis to improve productivity, efficiency and accuracy of work.
- Provides Caregiver Benefits related trouble shooting and problem resolution assistance to Caregivers.
- Acts as a liaison between Human Resources, other Health System departments, and caregivers regarding Human Resources issues.
Job Requirements
General Requirements |
* Completion of Sparrow Service Champion, or equivalent customer service program, within 6 months of hire/transfer into the role. |
Work Experience |
* Excellent customer service. * Knowledge of and experience in a human resources office. * Excellent writing and editing skills for multiple media channels and formats. * Experience with HRIS systems and Access databases. |
Education |
* Associate degree in Human Resources, business, or related field and minimum of one year experience working in Human Resources OR High School Diploma/GED and three years experience working in Human Resources. |

PREFERRED: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field * Experience with benefits administration * Experience with Lawson HRIS software |
