DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Early Learning Program Certification Representative, you will conduct inspections of child care facilities and assess compliance with regulations that are in place to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated childcare settings. In this role, you will conduct complaint investigations when allegations of regulatory non-compliance are alleged and investigate allegations of illegally operating facilities. This position requires extensive travel to facilities located in urban, suburban, and rural areas of the Commonwealth. You will have the opportunity to be on the leading edge of regulatory and policy changes that impact children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • You must be willing to travel frequently. Travel expenses will be paid.
  • You will have the ability to be home headquartered after six (6) months in the position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or
  • An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
