JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Operations Consultant, under the leadership of the Distribution Operations Manager, will support multiple disciplines with a strong focus on customer service while managing a diverse range of decision making. The Consultant will 1) manage and oversee the Distribution Support line and all vehicle management systems to provide support to the GST dealer body and GST Field Team; 2) manage various Distribution systems including mainframe and Portal application programs; 3) develop and conduct My Pipeline and Dealer Pipeline Management System (DPMS) training; 4) manage the process for handling damaged units; 5) coordinate company car and marketing vehicle activities. The Consultant will also take action to enhance cross-functional coordination and expand communications in all areas of Distribution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires you to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the business; including attending and participating in local and remote meetings and presentations, as required.
  • Support Distribution systems to include:
    • Distribution mainframe and portal application programs
    • Accessory Maintenance
    • XAC Conflicts/Requirements
    • Dealer Master
  • Manage all Distribution functions for vehicle campaign and port mod activities.
  • Coordinate assignment, delivery and final disposition of all vehicles in support of the company car, employee purchase and courtesy delivery programs.
  • Manage the Distribution responsibilities in the Vehicle Event process for GST, VPC and USAL by arranging for vehicles for all special events.
  • Manage the GST Damage Vehicle process
  • Manage the Vehicle Hold Process
  • Support systems development by actively participating and/or managing IT projects as guided by management.
  • Provide support to the Logistics process
  • Manage Vehicle Repurchase process for Retail vehicles
  • Develop and conduct Regional, In-District and In-Dealership My Pipeline and Dealer Pipeline Management System (DPMS) training.
  • Participate in activities related to the Ad Valorem process.
  • Manage and oversee the Distribution Support line and all vehicle management systems to support the GST dealer body and GST Field Team.
  • Process and coordinate delivery of MSO and Monroney Requests.
  • Manage dealer communication process.
  • Manage document storage and retention.
  • Support the Distribution department by providing assistance to departmental Managers, overseeing all special meetings as required including development of meeting materials, and managing logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. May participate in project or process improvement teams. Some project management. Coordinate all support activities for assigned business units and assigned customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; plus four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Computer literacy - able to navigate and operate a computer proficiently (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, SharePoint, Internet Explorer)Able to understand GST financial and productivity measurements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office. The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels. Associate will also be asked to travel to remote Houston area locations, as well as several out of state locations.
