Supervisor, Operations, Peri-Operative Services - Full-Time

The Operations Supervisor of the PeriOperative Division, is responsible for managing and maximizing equipment utilization, inventory, and supplies in Palisades Medical Center (PMC). Assists in the
development and implementation of revenue and Strategic growth activities to achieve the short and long term financial and operating objectives.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Supervisor, Operations, Peri-Operative Services at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Partner With OR leadership on promoting operational growth, cost containment and expansion of patient care services.
  • Administers daily functions and processes necessary for business execution and identifies areas for improvement or efficiencies. Initiates and successfully implements continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manages equipment inventory and par levels consistent with patient and Department needs and policies.
  • Assists with promoting optimal patient experiences; reviews patient experience data and identifies opportunities to improve with regards to materials management, logistics and throughput.
  • Allocates resources based on operational needs.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures.
  • Assists with monthly responsibility summaries and prepares variance reports as necessary.
  • Manages any missing or lost equipment and accessories.
  • Understands and assists with finances for Operational budget
  • Participates in hospital committees (e.g, Infection Control, Quality Control, Product Analysis, Safety and Security Committees, OR committee) as appropriate. Integrates appropriate hospital protocols and processes into daily activities.
  • Conducting annual and quarterly reviews with OR Leadership to ensure operational goals and standards are met.
  • Responsible for providing OR leadership with reports related to departmental financial statistics, quality reports and auditing including analysis of information.
  • Monitors Equipment contracts in collaboration with network Bio med
  • Participates as Lead role in preparing the department in regulatory survey readiness.
  • Partner on behalf of OR Leadership with Materials Management Central Sterile Processing, Plant Operations and Information Technology services.
  • Ensures the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care unit ( PACU) is consistently operational and fully equipped with the supplies and equipment necessary to function efficiently.
  • Manages Anesthesia supplies and ensure Anesthesia carts are fully functional for all surgical suites
  • Manages needs/requests of RNs during surgical procedures
  • Liaison between Surgeons and OR Revenue Management Analyst
  • Assists with supply cart inventory and adjusts par levels based on volume
  • Prepare, plan and deploy capital and operational requests for OR leadership
  • Lead role in implementing new supplies and equipment requests.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Materials Management related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to improve processes.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to foster teamwork.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare or related field.
