Identification Services Operator III

Overview:

Provide ID services for Department employees and contractors. Perform required and mandated functions and processes. Provides customer support services to system users, employees, and visitors.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process applicants for ID cards
  • Process applications for passport/visa photos
  • Process ID card applications
  • Perform security background checks
  • Perform quality control checks
  • Prepare status reports
  • Provide intermediate level customer service support
  • Provide intermediate level training
  • Update files
  • Identify and resolve moderately complex ID card problems
  • Identify and resolve moderately complex access control problems *
  • Perform other duties as assigned *
  • Performs assigned duties in an satisfactory manner
  • Works well with co-workers and supervisors
  • Observes work hours
  • Demonstrates punctuality
  • Maintains good relations with the public
  • Demonstrates good judgment
  • Business casual attire


Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of clerical and data entry experience
  • 1 year of experience working in a government facility processing applicants for federal ID cards
  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications/Programs
  • Good typing skills (30 wpm)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform work with no supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications/Programs
  • Good typing skills (30 wpm)

Security Clearance:

SECRET Level Required



  • Must have a current United States Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to maintain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
