POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this position is responsible for a wide variety of sales related functions including sales of all assigned product lines, demonstrations, installations when feasible, training, reports as required, the maintenance and safekeeping of demonstration instrumentation, computers, software, and other company property, as well as other related duties which may be assigned from time to time. This position is to reach or exceed assigned sales goals within assigned geographic territories through the Management of the US Representative Sales Organizations and in addition to ensure proactive harmonization of sales through the Japanese Trading Companies network. PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must be able to make effective and efficient independent decisions per company policy and protocol to solve problems based on customer needs and requirements. This role must have obtained at least two proficiency badges on products within the physical measurements product line, under the companies developmental badge program. Physical demands may include frequent bending; stooping, squatting, standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time and pulling/pushing of parts can also be expected. Incumbent must be able to liftup to 20 pounds routinely throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. SAFETY/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Position is required to maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in-particular to laboratory safety protocol. Proper use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as required by the Corporate Safety Document policies and procedures and/or customer dictated policy. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is home based and will require daily travel to customer locations and/or the regional office. The position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work alone on projects, as well as, collaborating as part of team. Incumbent may work at several different work sites during the course of a business day in order to support the needs of Shimadzu customers. Extra hours may periodically be required, in-order to fulfill the functions required by this position. The position requires strong customer service skills so that proper handling of public inquires are managed in a prompt and professional manner.
