Lead Sterile Processing Technician

Description

The Sterile Processing Technician III performs routine maintenance and preparation of instruments, supplies and equipment requiring decontamination and sterilization in a medical facility, as well as all duties performed by the Sterile Processing Technician I & II.

Required Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training: Sterile processing class, training, or vocational education.
  • Coursework/Training: Vocational training in Sterile Processing, decontamination/sterilization procedures, supply distribution.
  • Diploma from a Surgical Technology Vocational School or
  • Related job experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical laboratory.
  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Five years: Experience as a Sterile Processing Technician II with emphasis on instrumentation processing and sterilization, 2 years of the experience must have been obtained at COVHS.
  • Two years: Experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care center with primary responsibility for instrumentation processing and sterilization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
