Job Description

Essential Functions

We are seeking a senior paralegal to maintain and support our international legal entities, primarily in Latin America and India. This position may be fully remote or a hybrid between remote and the office.

Responsibilities

* Support the Corporate Governance and Legal Entity Management Team in all governance matters and management of legal entities

* Manage Visa's corporate structure in Latin America and India, including legal entity formation, merger and dissolution processes, and ongoing compliance with local legal requirements

* Draft and review documents related to entities, including formation documents, board and shareholder meeting minutes, and other compliance documentation

* Coordinate and project manage numerous stakeholders across all levels of the organization to effectively collaborate on key projects

* Pro-actively plan and coordinate with cross-functional team to effectively support the corporate structure

* Maintain legal entity records, including minute books

* Manage outside counsel on legal entity matters

* Assist where needed in other aspects of the work of the Corporate Legal Team

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

* 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

* Minimum of seven years of multinational experience in entity management at either a top-tier law firm or in-house

* Paralegal certificate or degree

* Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to details

* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Ability to be responsive and flexible in a fast-paced and challenging environment

* Excellent problem-solving skills, taking initiative and having a client-focused approach

* A team player who has strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams in multiple jurisdictions, across different time zones.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Licensed, or willing to become, notary public

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

* Experience with entity management databases

* Working knowledge of Spanish preferred, but not a requirement

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 94,800 to 171,750 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
