Salary Range: Up to $42,500 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

To provide specialized skills in creating and managing university endowments. Responsible for ensuring that gift and endowment agreements comply with University and UT System policies and practices.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Drafts, coordinates, and tracks the preparation of new gifts, endowments, and annual scholarship agreements, and other documents supporting gifts to UTSA from draft to final form.
  2. Ensures that all gift agreements include language consistent with current laws and University and UT system policies and practices.
  3. Responsible for submitting new endowments to the UT System for review and acceptance via the SABER system.
  4. Coordinates annual donor endowment reports.
  5. Monitors the endowment services email inbox.
  6. Assists with scheduling endowment compliance training for all University personnel involved in endowment management, and ensures that training materials are up to date with the Board of Regents, UT System, and UTSA policies and procedures.
  7. Assists with scheduling endowment compliance meetings with campus partners, planning meeting agendas, and taking meeting notes.
  8. Assists with archiving digital and paper documents.
  9. Assists departments in resolving questions relating to endowment compliance and gift acceptance.
  10. Provides data for internal and external reports upon request.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of development, donor relations, or other relevant administrative experience supporting activities that advance an organization.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience on a one-to-one basis.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and quality in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to proactively analyze issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentially.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and university compliance laws, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to write reports containing technical information.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, email, spreadsheet, and database software programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Similar development, administrative, or endowment experience.
  • Similar experience in higher education.
  • Experience with the Raiser's Edge database.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:
  • Office environment.
  • Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator.
  • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
  • The incumbent will have the option to work remotely or hybrid.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.


This position primarily works remotely in Texas but may work on campus on an infrequent basis (approximately four days or less per month). When an employee is required to work on campus, travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
