We are hiring a Land Use Planner! This position will provide support for projects by applying land use regulations, assisting with preparation of land use entitlement documents. This position could work from various offices in Oregon: Medford, Tangent, Bend, or Portland.

Responsibilities will include:
* Performing property, zoning, and utility research by way of internet/GIS investigation and through telephone/in-person inquiries to ensure compliance with agency land use regulations
* Developing clearly written and detailed scopes of work and project plans
* Assisting with the preparation and submittal of applications for complex technical land use permits and entitlements
* Analyzing and breaking down complex issues affecting property to assess the feasibility of permitting, development and business operations.
* Coordinating with in-house and 3rd party land use, engineering, environmental, geology and legal subject matter experts, permitting agency staff, and other project team members.
* Creating, organizing, and maintaining project schedules, defining critical paths, and tracking milestone dates
* Developing and maintaining working relationships with permitting agency staff, project stakeholders and other project team members
* Occasional travel, working out of town for periods, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in planning, Geography, Environmental Sociology or related field or equivalent work experience is required
* 3-5 years full-time professional experience as a practicing Oregon land use planner.
* Experience interpreting and applying City and County Comprehensive Plans and Development Codes and LUBA and Appellate Court caselaw.
* Knowledge of Oregon's Statewide Planning System
* Experience with aggregate resource planning (Goal 5, CUP, technical work)
* Experience with industrial site development and project management
* Excellent written communication skills including correspondence, findings and technical reports.
* Excellent public speaking skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders and permitting agency staff.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Proficient with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and project management software (Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Adobe, etc.)
* Proficient with Esri GIS (ArcPro and AGOL)
