This job will be responsible for leading Ochsner's work with strategic partner NextOp Veterans to implement a joint Department of Labor workforce grant program to develop strategies for hiring military and veteran healthcare professionals. As part of the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) Initiative, this job will be focused on creating programming and outreach initiatives to recruit skilled, yet underemployed veterans with difficulties translating military experience into high-quality in-place healthcare careers through direct recruitment, career coaching, and focused skills translation for both non-healthcare and healthcare careers. This job will be responsible for developing training-to-career pipelines for identified populations in military and veteran talent (dislocated workers, incumbent workers, new entrants, and opportunity youth) to meet industry talent needs (i.e., Sterile Technician, Physician Assistants, LPN, etc.). This job will focus on working with external and internal partners to research, review, and implement solutions to transition military healthcare professionals into civilian healthcare careers. This job will also research, identify, and create opportunities to develop and advance transitioning military medical professionals (dislocated workers) and veterans in our communities with military medical experience (incumbent workers) into healthcare leadership training programs to better leverage an existing talent base and increase diversity.
