The Family Partnership was founded in 1878 as the Minneapolis Humane Society to protect and serve children that were being abused or exploited. Wages and Benefits

SCHEDULE

This position is fully in-person and works 4.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday. Our preschool centers offer a full-day therapeutic education and care program for children 6 weeks to 11 years of age.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as The Family Partnership's Food Aide provides an opportunity to support the preschool food program by handling breakfast, lunch, and snack food service according to CACFP standards. This part-time position assists with kitchen and food services provided to children on-site. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Receiving food deliveries to site from food vendor.
  • Inspecting food delivered to ensure its quality, safety, and appropriateness for young children.
  • Plating breakfast, lunch, and snack set up for all classrooms according to CACFP standards.
  • Delivering meal carts to classrooms and retrieving meal carts after breakfast and lunch.
  • Maintaining food service documentation including temperature log, milk and milk substitute amounts, and changes to menu according to CACFP standards.
  • Washing and storing dishes and utensils according to CACFP standards.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation surfaces prior to beginning daily food preparation.
  • Making sure the kitchen is clean and all refrigerators are in working order.
  • Ensuring classrooms have all necessary materials for food and beverage service and clean-up.
  • Preparing daily cleaning materials needed for food service and classroom use.



Who You Are



  • You hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • It is preferable if you have childhood experience and/or knowledge of working with children.
  • CACFP Food Program knowledge is helpful or the ability to learn and adhere to specific CACFP food service rules and requirements.
  • You have the ability to document, count, and calculate food amounts.
  • You have knowledge of health and safety precautions, sanitation/cleaning techniques, and emergency response.
  • You have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • You are punctual, dependable, and manage time effectively.
  • You have the ability to work with and communicate effectively with a diverse population, parents, children, and other professionals.
  • Food Manager License is a plus.
