Duties and Responsibilities


  • DNA sequencing library preparation (transcriptomics, DNA sequencing, miRNA, microbiome)

  • DNA sequencing, robotic workflow development, rtPCR assays for pathogen detection
  • Direct incorporation of new protocols, methodologies and systems as needed
  • User report generation, quarterly and annual report generation, core invoicing, and billing process
  • Maintain laboratory consumables, instrumentation and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other core facilities.
  • Meet turnaround deadlines.
  • Assure efficient and effective facility operations, availability of required resources, and proper prioritization of projects.
  • Interact with users, particularly helping them to develop appropriate strategies to guide their research.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Minimum Education:
-Required: Bachelors Degree Specify Degree(s): Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry
Minimum Experience:
-Required: 3-5 years of previous molecular biology-related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience working with DNA and RNA; Experience in molecular biology bench techniques; Experience in collaborative studies; Self driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction; Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail; thrives in a fast paced environment; strong desire to be a part of a translational team that will generate groundbreaking research; Self-driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction.

  • Degree in related field and/or three-five years of molecular biology bench experience
