Within our division of Biometrics, Data Sciences & Access, the Drug Interaction Solutions (DIS) group is on the lookout for a seasoned Director of Software Development. This leadership role is pivotal in steering our software support operations towards excellence, ensuring alignment with both product innovation and client demands, thereby reinforcing Certara's commitment to revolutionizing drug development processes.

As the Director of Software Development, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of DIS applications, including the Drug Interaction Database (DIDB). Your role entails providing visionary leadership in technical strategies and objectives, significantly contributing to the DIS software products' success. Collaborating closely with various teams, you will guarantee the delivery of superior solutions that meet Certara's esteemed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the DIS group's strategic direction concerning technical requirements and goals, significantly impacting the success of DIS software products.
• Innovate and implement technical features in response to insights from the team, customers, and partners.
• Lead the continuous enhancement, restructuring, and modernization of DIS applications and services.
• Foster collaborative efforts across teams to influence product roadmaps, prioritizing based on customer feedback and support analytics.
• Direct engagement with key clients to grasp their challenges and needs, turning these into actionable insights for product improvement.
• Uphold superior software support standards, surpassing SLAs and maintaining excellence in quality.
• Innovate and enforce efficient software programming practices, incorporating best practices in issue resolution and documentation.
• Contribute strategic insights to business development initiatives, including crafting proposals and leading client presentations.
• Scale the software support team in alignment with growing development demands, ensuring seamless collaboration with other software development factions within Certara.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence, teamwork, and client-focus within the support division.
• Recommend investments in tools, technologies, and training to bolster support capabilities.
• Regularly report to senior management on the software development operations, achievements, and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
• Over 8 years of software programming experience, specifically in the health sciences domain.
• Proven leadership and project management prowess.
• Comprehensive knowledge of web standards and extensive experience with the Microsoft web development stack (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server).
• Demonstrated ability in relational database design, development, and maintenance, especially SQL Server.
• Familiarity with DNS and core internet infrastructure, including AWS full infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in UI design for diverse user groups and internal administrators.
• Experience in leading software programming teams and interfacing with scientific personnel for feature design and technical requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with business development and sales teams to unearth opportunities and drive feature development.
• Familiarity with drug interaction data and pharmacokinetics/pharmacology is advantageous.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to quality and timely delivery.
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and fluency in English.

• Mastery in Microsoft web development technologies with a broad understanding of alternative development stacks.
• Expertise in DNS, internet infrastructure, and AWS.
• Capable of UI design and managing relational databases.
• Experience in supervising teams of software programmers.
• Be able to work with scientists to design features and develop technical requirements.
• Ability to work with business development and sales teams to develop features and identify opportunities.
