Position Summary:

The applicant will work closely with the research team for a federally-funded project on how to improve instructional practices for K-3rd grade English learners. Tasks for this project will mainly include assisting in data collection (assessing students' language, literacy, and cognitive skills; taking field notes, video recording literacy instruction), scoring and entering data in excel, coding video observations, and attending lab meetings. The applicant is expected to work closely and communicate well with the research team in performing these research activities Reliable transportation is required to travel to and from off-site locations (elementary schools in or near Orange County area). Proof of immunizations (MMR, Tdap, and Flu) are required to go into the schools.

$21.67 - $30.35 (Hourly Rate)

Required:

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Education, Sociology, or Related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others and to work as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to organize work, attention to detail, and to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Proven ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to use a computer and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.

Preferred:

One or more years of research experience in a psychology, education, or related-discipline. Experience with data collection, cleaning, and analyses of education research data. Familiarity with discipline of Ethnic Studies or related field.
