Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Mental Health Nurse (RN) in the newly established Youth Crisis Center. In conjunction with our Behavioral Health Nursing team, the Mental Health RN will work to help support this 24-hour facility which provides services for adolescent clients. This position will also work closely with the clinical team of Clinicians, psychiatrists, service coordinators and direct care staff to meet the individual mental health needs of the youth. Our first application review will begin on April 15. Job Description Other responsibilities include:
Provides comprehensive nursing services; assesses the holistic needs of individuals by incorporating family and environmental factors; collects and documents patient health history; measures and records vital signs; completes health assessments and performs limited exams; obtains, processes, and handles lab specimens; manages, controls and implements medication administration programs; performs minor procedures and treatments within designated area of specialty.
Job Requirements Minimum Job Requirements: High school or equivalent and a Vocational, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other Nursing program that meets the requirements for the Registered Nurse license are required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas and a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required. Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency. Preferred Job Requirements: Three years of nursing experience in Medical Surgical or Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred. Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions: All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation. |
