Conservation - SUMMER CONSERVATION INTERN - Objects

Job Purpose: The Saint Louis Art Museum is pleased to offer a full-time Summer Conservation Internship. The primary focus of the position is to assist conservators with the execution and completion of conservation treatment of an Ambrym Island mask (rom heb'ror'r) composed of plant fiber and pigment slated for the summer of 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the development and execution of treatment-related procedures under supervision of staff conservators.
  • Complete documentation photography as directed by the supervisory conservators.
  • Complete written documentation and data entry into the Museum's TMS database.
  • Assist with public programming and content dissemination of project.
  • Assist with other routine lab and departmental activities as needed.
  • Assist with lab maintenance.


Specifications: Currently enrolled or recently graduated master's degree in Art Conservation student with experience working in an art conservation lab under the supervision of a conservator.
