What You'll Do

*Note this is a temporary/contract opportunity for 6-8 months*

Important part of HR Operations Team that supports administering human resources policies and projects that support growing Financial Services company. You will provide tactical HR support to managers and employees nationwide on a variety of HR topics.



  • Serve as a Hightower brand ambassador by upholding The Hightower Way cultural elements - Mission, Purpose, V.A.L.U.E. Experience, Commitment and Standards, promoting excellence in the internal and external client experience during every encounter
  • Improve consistency in every client and colleague encounter by embodying the core principles of our Hightower V.A.L.U.E. Experience (Validate, Actively Listen, Leverage Resources, Understand Ownership, Express Gratitude)
  • Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis for 1500+ employees
  • Keep up-to-date on changes in payroll and tax laws across the United States and keep team updated of changes affecting Hightower, including minimum wage audits
  • Ensure new hires are fully onboarded in payroll system
  • Maintain tax notices that come in via the mail as well as through payroll tax fallouts and take appropriate action as needed
  • Work with payroll provider to open and register new tax accounts as tax fallouts are generated
  • File quarterly and yearly tax reports as needed including unemployment reporting and license renewals.
  • Initiate and process garnishment payments
  • Complete Year-End processes for 4 FEIN's (W2's, 1095-Cs, W2-cs)
  • Complete Verification of Employment's and matches to charitable organizations
  • Responsible for all payroll and tax reporting, working with outside agencies and teams on behalf of Hightower.


What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role
  • Experience with payroll
  • Experience with cloud based HRIS system (Ceridian or similar)
  • Specific knowledge of several human resources processes (employment law/compliance, compensation, payroll, taxes, benefits, risk management)
  • High-level in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
