Job Purpose

Be a leader driving towards an engaging, agile, equitable, and cost-efficient workplace experience supporting National Grid's passion to deliver a clean, fair and affordable energy. Partner with Operations, National Grid's Integrated Service Partner, Facilities, Capital Delivery, and others to develop a real estate strategy aligning to our customer's needs. Develop a team with successful outcomes supporting National Grid's goals and initiatives by providing strategies such as procure a leased or owned location, develop a consolidation opportunity, or dispose of an asset. Strive to support and help drive the overall business relationship between the Real Estate and Workplace Strategy Team and its customers. Key Accountabilities

* Manage a team delivering exceptional engagement and professional development. * Deliver and oversee the real estate portfolio mitigating risk.
* Develop and execute real estate strategies driving positive operational outcomes.
* Interpret technical feasibility, financial and cost studies in preparation for obtaining required approvals.
* Create and implement policies and procedures ensuring effective controls and governance.
* Develop influential alliances with key contacts, initiating appropriate escalations and remediation efforts as necessary.
* Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including human resource management, negotiations and communications.
  • Must possess strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to establish effective working relationships with both internal and external customers at all levels.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Management or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years work experience (experience with leading a team).

Preferred Qualifications
* Five (5) or more years of experience negotiating and/or managing commercial leases and the leasing process. * Three (3) or more years of experience leading a team.
* Actively participating in the implementation of a strategic idea {from strategy creation, procuring of a space, development of the facility, and execution of the go live plan}.
Job Competencies

* Creative problem-solving solutions challenging the status-quo.
* Business acumen with the ability to assimilate operational necessities into real estate strategy.
* Understanding of commercial real estate.
* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally within the organization; may include influencing, negotiating and presentation abilities.
* Proven analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data, evaluate, produce complex reports, and make recommendations based on detailed, complex analysis on assignments of significant scope.
* Project management experience.
* Ability to work independently and travel as required; expected to be less than 20% of time.

Salary Upsate, NY (Albany, Syracuse)

$117,000 - $138,000 a year

Salary Downstate, NY (Brooklyn, Hicksville)

$141,000 - $166,000 a year
