Job Title:

Materials Engineering Co-Op (Fall 2024)

Job Description:

The Role:
This role will work closely with the Global Material Quality Engineering team to identify high impact raw materials, use statistical analysis to identify trends, and develop a plan with key suppliers to improve quality and mitigate risk for our end of use customer.

WORK LOCATION: Hillsboro, OR

This co-op is for Fall 2024 and will run from June/July-December.

What you'll do:

  • Use statistical analysis to review data sets, look for correlations, and visualize trends
  • Identify gaps in internal measurement processes to proactively alert against downstream customer impacts
  • Communicate with key suppliers to develop plans to test and reduce process variation

What we seek:

  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques to develop action plans
  • Competent in MS Office Suite

Desired Major:
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering or related field

Your success will be measured by:
Success in this role will be determined by using both your team and tools to develop a method which can identify quality opportunities ultimately leading to improved performance for our customers. This role will utilize people and teamwork skills to work closely with the cross-functional teams to gather data and drive accountability upstream to improve quality excellence for our customers. These problem-solving skills will require creativity and innovation to identify high impact raw material CI projects which ultimately drives improvement to the DPPM metric.
