We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to work as a member of our population health interdisciplinary care management team providing clinical support to advocate for safe and effective medication use and access. The Clinical Pharmacist will have clinical practice experience with evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations including but not limited to diabetes mellitus, heart failure, ASCVD, COPD, asthma as well as familiarity with specialty medical conditions managed by specialty medications including inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid conditions, neurological disorders, blood disorders, hormonal and enzyme deficiencies.

The Clinical Pharmacist will be able to advocate on behalf of members by proactively engaging with internal and external business and clinical partners to assure members pharmacy-related needs are met. The Clinical Pharmacist will need to be able to navigate multiple proprietary computerized platforms to review and provide written documentation of all activities. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist will have a high level of familiarity with drug benefit information for medical benefit and pharmacy benefit plans with proficiency to utilize external claims applications. The Clinical Pharmacist will develop and foster relationships with clinical colleagues including RN case managers and medical directors as well as internal business partners. The Clinical Pharmacist will need strong interest in collaboratively developing innovative solutions in a fast-paced corporate environment with a vast array of both clinical and business partners and stakeholders and have both strong written and verbal communication skills. To be successful in this role, the Clinical Pharmacist will have experience and exceptional public speaking skills in presenting to external clients with medication benefit and drug information subject matter expertise.

If you are located in the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Review and assess individual member clinical cases for high-priority medication-related opportunities and recommendations
  • Provide written, consultative medication recommendations for interdisciplinary care management team members
  • Directly contact medical providers over the telephone as needed to discuss pharmacy-related consultative recommendations and provide benefit-related medication guidance
  • When needed, speak with medical plan members over the telephone to provide consultative medication-related advice
  • Be available during business hours to provide verbal and written drug information responses to nursing, medical directors, and other interdisciplinary colleagues
  • Develop and provide interdisciplinary pharmacy-related education materials and presentations
  • Prepare for and participate in member case care assessment and program development activities
  • Actively participate in organizational pharmacist engagement program enhancements and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in employee's state of residence (Georgia)
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of Kansas (or obtain within 6-months of hire date funded by organization)
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist
  • 2+ years of direct patient care experience as defined by BPS Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) Examination Content Outline (certification not required)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Pharmacy Practice PGY1 Residency (ASHP-Accredited)
  • Ambulatory Care PGY1 or PGY2 Pharmacy Residency (ASHP-Accredited)
  • Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP)
  • 2+ years of pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) experience
  • 2+ years of medical benefit plan experience
