National Grid is hiring a Senior Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Program Manager in Massachusetts
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our MA locations

Job Purpose

Manage the delivery of energy efficiency services for Commercial & Industrial customers with a focus on customer and internal needs, including business support, coordination of services, program offerings and the tracking of energy savings, budget spending, participation and key performance indicators. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction, productivity, and process efficiency through the use of best practices and market-driven strategies. Responsible for managing the overall performance of the Commercial & Industrial Gas Energy Efficiency programs in Massachusetts to achieve the committed program energy savings targets within the program budgets, as well as implementing the Weatherization program for Commercial customers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Goal Tracking & Development - Monitor progress toward regulatory goals and for energy savings, budget spending, and participation, as well as key performance indicators of program energy efficiency implementation and productivity. If/when necessary, develop and execute gap closer tactics to boost performance to goals. Lead efforts to develop budgets and set targets for the programs.
  • Budget Tracking & Reporting - Manage approved program budgets by developing sector forecasts and reporting on actuals against targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction within program guidelines and problem-solve customer escalations.
  • Vendor Management -
    • Manage the day-to-day relationship with vendors and other external service providers, including effective negotiation, interpretation, and application of established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements.
    • Review and approve vendor invoices and monthly accruals and other program information to ensure the integrity of financial reports. Manage multiple, related purchase orders.
    • Monitor program trends and insights from vendors, stakeholders and customers to determine program drivers. Collaborate with internal and external partners to adjust program delivery practices to ensure best-in-class programs.
    • Managing and motivating vendor and contractor relationships through innovative and stretching metrics.
  • Support, review and provide feedback on analysis of energy efficiency trends, new measure development and/or new approaches to meet and define performance targets.
  • Coordinate with the National Grid Marketing team to support the execution of outreach strategies, including the development of program materials, an annual Marketing plan, and events and collateral targeting specific marketing channels to drive customer action and achievement of program goals.
  • Coordinate with the National Grid Procurement team and program vendors to develop appropriate scopes of work, contract terms, and conditions that are consistent with the Company's regulated activities and all applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with IT and web support teams to maintain relevant IT and tracking systems.
  • Develop and present guidance to internal teams and external partners on energy efficiency offerings, customer eligibility, and program goals and procedures.
  • Participate in joint utility statewide meetings and adapt best practices to ensure a consistent customer experience across service territories.
  • Ensure program delivery meets compliance, audit, ethics, finance and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve energy efficiency services for customers by soliciting customer and stakeholder feedback, implementing best practices through engagement in Process Excellence Hubs and exploring ways to streamline processes, and developing communication materials. Collaborate with internal partners to develop robust strategies that offer best-in-class approaches to energy efficiency for the participating market.
  • Represent National Grid values when meeting with key internal and external stakeholders such as business, municipal, or regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with ad hoc program information requests from regulators and other internal/external stakeholders.
  • Deliver high quality work with adherence to internal and external deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the business by staying abreast of business trends, learning and sharing best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy efficiency services and measures that apply to programs, technologies and properties.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of 4years of related experience (energy efficiency program management preferred). Advanced degree is preferred.
  • CEM preferred.
  • An understanding of commercial building structures including the systems within.
  • Proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Understanding of Tableau software.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices, trends, and legislation.
  • Knowledge of Process Excellence (PEX)

Salary
$103,000 - $121,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experience
