Description The Department of Medicine is seeking a motivated Fund Manager to oversee fiscal and programmatic needs under the guidance of the Division Administrator, and Financial Affairs Manager and other Department leaders. Your role will involve preparing and submitting grants and funding requests, managing budgets, financial reports, and re-budgeting requests for the University, National Programs, and partner agencies. You will also coordinate program ordering, purchasing, travel arrangements, and research subject incentives. As a liaison between our department and financial offices, you will interpret policies and resolve financial issues. Monitoring budgets and expenditures will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with the Division Administrator, you will analyze expenditures and address anticipated financial issues proactively. Finally, you will bear primary responsibility for all phases of pre- and post-award administration for intra/extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs).
Hourly range: $28.20-$60.57
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 1-3 years of Financial, clerical or administrative experience
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators, and administration and to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with university and funding agency policies and regulations.
  • Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions
  • Close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment
  • Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately
PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/administration or experience equivalent
  • 1-2 years of Research Administration experience
