SUMMARY

This position supervises and trains Probate Clerks, so he/she must have knowledge of all staff jobs within the Probate Department


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and train Probate Clerks;
  • Knowledge of all staff jobs within the Probate Department;
  • Oversee all administrative duties and properly distribute workload;
  • Substitute where needed during staff unavailability;
  • Involved in decisions regarding discipline and evaluations;
  • Schedule and support Register of Wills hearings as needed;
  • Interact with Attorneys in preparation for Register hearings.

  • High School Diploma;
  • 5 years related experience;
  • Provide excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work well with the public and co-workers;
  • Excellent typing, word processing and data entry skills;
  • Accurate, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and ensure that deadlines are met;
  • Well organized;
  • Efficient worker, keeping all work processed with no 'back log';
  • Excellent telephone and people skills;
  • Project a professional demeanor, working calmly and productively under pressure
  • Excellent math skills;
  • Excellent computer skills with a knowledge of MS Office Products, as well as various other computer software packages;
  • Independent, responsible, self-motivated worker;
  • Team worker, helping co-workers when needed;
  • Excellent knowledge of standard office procedures;
  • Knowledge of County policies and procedures;
  • Must be able to operate the following equipment:
    1. Computer/Printer;
    2. Telephone;
    3. Copier;
    4. Fax;
    5. Microfilm Reader/Printer;
    6. Typewriter;
    7. Adding machine.
