Position Summary The Driver/Client Ambassador is responsible for driving Salvation Army vehicles to provide transportation services for clients and staff, pick-up and delivery of materials, as well as to monitor the facility and ensure a safe, quiet, and productive environment. Essential Functions The duties of the Driver/Client Ambassador are to safely drive and operate our passenger vans/bus and perform security functions for The Salvation Army Bell Shelter, a residential housing and services facility for single adults experiencing homelessness. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Perform basic mathematical calculations for mileage tracking and reporting purposes. Maintain and adhere to client pick up and drop off schedules, timely pick-ups and deliveries of materials. Maintain logs and records related to vehicle maintenance. Perform pre-safety checks and inspections of vehicles and address basic vehicle upkeep, e.g., gas, oil, coolant, washer fluids, and inside and outside vehicle washes weekly. Report vehicle maintenance and service needs to supervisor. Security Attendant functions include general monitoring of facility and clients to ensure a safe, healthy, and productive environment, and compliance with facility rules. Document all incidents using incident report forms and logs. Monitor and supervise assigned client activities and social events, including off-site. Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate areas or individuals. Provide basic program information to visitors and to telephone callers. Coordinate with other facility staff to ensure proper safety measures are followed. Interact politely and professionally with clients to explain and uphold facility rules. Perform facility rounds throughout each shift to ensure the safety of clients, staff, and visitors. Perform all duties with courtesy and respect, maintaining a healthy relationship with others. Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager and Management Staff. Working Conditions Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to drive any of our fleet vehicles, which include passenger vans, flatbed truck and 45-passenger bus. Minimum Qualifications

High School or Equivalent (required)
Experience
2 years: Minimum Driving Experience. (required)
Must possess a California Class B Driver's License with a passenger endorsement, including a driving record with NO moving violations in the last 2 years. Air Brakes preferred. (required) Licenses & Certifications
