Basic Function

LyondellBasell is searching for a Technician, Bulk Loading, Lead for the Channelview, TX Manufacturing Complex, located 18 miles from downtown Houston. Our 4,000-acre Channelview Complex consists of two olefin units at the north side facility that manufacture ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. The south side facility uses many of these products to produce propylene oxide, styrene monomer and other derivatives. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package and pension plan.

Provides support for daily maintenance/project activities and assists shift in daily maintenance activity, as needed. Train and assist Bulk Handling Technician with light or minor maintenance projects. Drives consistency and communication concerning ongoing maintenance activities and keeps workflow moving. Communicates unit priorities that may impact schedule and provides feedback to PMC, Supervisor and Specialist.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Lead and assist Bulk Handling in issuing of all level of permits. These responsibilities include insuring equipment is properly locked out and tagged out for maintenance activities. Lead Line Breaks within Bulk Handling and will be the Permit Qualified person standing by on line breaks.

* Lead and assist Bulk Handling in minor maintenance activities. Meet with CVO PMC and Bulk Handling Specialist to determine workloads/projects.

* Coordinate with CVO Schedulers and Lead Persons to access and prioritize daily/weekly required area maintenance, access overtime requirements, determine equipment/supplies required, additional manpower required, to include any special/non routine task(s).

* Maintain a CVO updated tracking system for maintenance performed in CVO Bulk Handling. Communicate all pending maintenance to CVO Schedulers, Lead Persons, Supervisors, and Bulk Handling Logistic Specialist.

* Communicate with CVO Schedulers and Lead Persons to determine the daily/weekly maintenance requirements and equipment required to be prepared for. maintenance and schedule work time.

* Responsible to identify/verify/confirm with CVO Schedulers and/or Lead Persons, any equipment prepared to be shipped off-site for repair; any equipment returning to site for repair or install.

* Maintain Qualification/Certification on Fork Lift/Truck, Drought, JLG (man lift) to perform light lifting at CVO loading/unloading Bulk Handling.

* Have detail knowledge of all LYB maintenance and hose testing or hydraulic testing procedures: Maintain and track, loading/unloading annual hose inspections/testing. Order hose(s) as necessary to maintain current test status. Maintain repair kits, replacement parts, or new equipment to repair or replace; Camlock fittings, Dry Lock fittings, Break-Away fittings.

* Maintain a CVO updated tracking system for railcar maintenance performed in CVO Bulk Handling. Communicate all pending maintenance to CVO Schedulers, Lead Persons, Supervisors, and Bulk Handling Logistic Specialist.

* Maintain available list and track's equipment needs from vendors, replacement hoses, valves, gaskets etc.

* Utilize Bulk Handling knowledge/experience to lead/participate in training sessions with Bulk Handling personnel

* Oversee any outages within Bulk Handling including Barge Dock annual outage or special projects with permitting and equipment clearing.

Min. Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of bulk handling experience and/or operations experience

* Prior knowledge and experience of CVO safety procedures including ePASS

* Prior knowledge and experience with Rail Road, Tank Truck and Barge Dock safety procedures

* Knowledge and ability to problem solve and trouble shoot at a high level.

* Prior knowledge and ability to navigate in SAP to create and/or print, purchase requisitions, write work notification(s), track maintenance activity, view purchase requisitions/orders, and create reservations for work supplies, etc.

* Qualified/Certified on Fork Lift/Truck, Drought, JLG (man lift) to perform light lifting at CVO loading/unloading bulk handling preferred.

* Must be at least 18 years of age.

* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident).
