Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7)

Department/Organization: 212201 - Student Services and Certification

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some weekends and extended hours.

Job Summary: The Academic Advisor II provides guidance to University students on academic progress, courses, University resources, etc. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. Provides guidance and trains entry-level advisors. May teach compass course as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of academic advising experience; OR master's degree and some academic advising experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking skills. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database management. Good planning, coordinating, and organizing skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications: Academic advising experience. Experience with Banner.
