Responsibilities

The Trauma PI Coordinator is responsible for development and implementation of quality measures and improvement activities related to trauma patients. Uses American College of Surgeons quality indicators, Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) benchmark reports, chart reviews and Trauma Registry data to identify opportunities for improvement. Interprets and carries out ACS standards to ensure ongoing compliance. Serves as a clinical expert resource within the Trauma program as well as nursing and support personnel throughout the hospital in the area of trauma care.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • BSN or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years in nursing practice with 2 years in critical care (Emergency Department, ICU, etc.).
  • Clinical experience with trauma patients.
  • Experience in quality improvement activities.
  • Current Idaho RN License
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • ATLS audit within 1 year.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well with patients/families, nursing, ancillary staff, and physicians.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MSN preferred
  • TNCC preferred
  • Encouraged certification, nationally in trauma specialty.
  • Experience in data collection and statistical analysis preferred.
