Description:

The Star Tribune has an exciting internship opportunity fora college-level student to engage with our sales and ad operations teams. In this role, you will gain experience in many aspects of ad operations, marketing, and sales. You'll be embedded within a specific team but work across groups to gain knowledge and experience. Our internshipis hands-on and actsas a feeder program to future Star Tribune careers. This position will be starting immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

You will gain an understanding of Microsoft Dynamics, LinkedIn Navigator, Google Analytics, and digital marketing; pick up prospecting techniques and tips that will get you to decision makers; learn how to build professional presentations for proposals and reporting; develop knowledge around constructing & auditing digital ad campaigns; and build relationships with our Account Executives, Ad Operations, Marketing, and Content teams.

Qualifications:



  • Must be a junior, senior, or recent grad in undergraduate college studies, with a focus on sales and/or marketing.
  • Excellent verbal, written and over-the-phone communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with a comfort in working with people.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Strong customer service orientation, organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Interest in research and continuous learning.


    This is a not-for-credit, 40 hour/week,paidinternship, for up to one year. There is a possibility of a flexible part-time schedule for the right candidate(s). We are looking for someone to start immediately.
