Salary Range: Up to $42,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Function: Responsible for student conduct casework, providing administrative due process, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Conducts student conduct meetings and investigations assuring compliance with laws, guidelines, UT System, and UTSA policies and procedures.
  2. Receives, investigates, and processes cases within established parameters from intake to disposition including but not limited to evidence collection, and application and analysis of relevant policies.
  3. Responsible for the development of learning outcomes and sanctions balancing consistency with individualized,
  4. Responsible for timely and accurate casework, updated database completion, and participation in conducting hearings in various roles.
  5. Creates and promotes academic and behavioral programming and presentations within the campus community.
  6. Establishes and maintains active partnerships with on and off-campus entities to monitor workflow, consistency, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
  7. Exercises initiative and judgment as a resource and administrative liaison to the campus community regarding student conduct matters.
  8. Interprets and communicates institutional and system policies and procedures to students in consultation with the Director, Associate Dean of Students, Legal Affairs, and UT System Office of General Counsel concerning student conduct matters.
  9. Evaluates policies and procedures and contribute recommendations to the Director.
  10. Serves as an active member of the Student Conduct Group addressing student behavioral matters on campus.
  11. Assists with the coordination of resources and services to students when multiple offices are involved.
  12. Provides backup assistance to Student Conduct supervisors and staff as guided by the Director.
  13. Supports programs, events, and initiatives sponsored by Student Affairs.
  14. Supports university-wide programs including, but not limited to Roadrunner Days, Homecoming, and Commencement.
  15. Participates in recruitment, supervision, and training aspects of student staff.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, Education, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in the areas of higher education, student conduct, student affairs, housing and residence life, investigations, social work, wellbeing or advocacy.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a graduate assistant in a higher education setting providing direct service to students may be substituted for one-year related experience.
  • Case management and database experience related to college student population.
  • Demonstrated skills in the following areas: student development, programming development, planning, effective presentation, and effective collaboration.
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making and risk management planning.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate and manage personal and office safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a graduate assistant in counseling, student conduct, or social work.
  • Maxient database experience.
  • Knowledge of Title IX policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
  • High student contact office environment.
  • Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator.
  • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally.


This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
