General Information:

The Card Services department at James Madison University is seeking a highly motivated full-time Head Cashier. This position is located in our Customer Service office and is responsible for daily interactions with customers. The hours are Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm with some extended hours during our peak times (summer orientations and semester start ups).

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide superior customer service at all times
- Collect and process payments for JACards, meal plans, and declining balance accounts
- Maintain accurate data in CSGold
- Ensure accurate keying of account sales and deposits
- Maintain accurate documentation of UREC accounts
- Process meal plan changes
- Post charges to student accounts through PeopleSoft
- Provide backup assistance to the Business Manager
- Assist with Orientation
- Assist with Registration during semester start-up
- Maintain office supply inventory
- Maintain inventory of card and printer supplies
- Oversee the general operation of the front line
- Schedule and Supervise the front line staff

Qualifications:

- Previous customer service experience
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills, including planning, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability and openness to learn new technology
- Understanding of basic accounting procedures
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams
