In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements.   • FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
  • FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
  • FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
  • The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Essential Functions

85% - Provides academic and administrative support to the Applied Technology (AT) Fields of Interest (FOI); receives incoming inquiries and providing FOI's related general information to prospective students, parents and community members; if needed, provides referrals to appropriate departments and/or sister colleges based on FOI and service needed; schedule appointments via phone and/or email; thoroughly working with Microsoft Office and Google Drive tools to accomplish FOI's initiatives; specifically, use of Google sheets- record FOI's students' profile information, retrieving student information from the Student Center, assist in creating individual students educational plan; adheres to applicable policies and procedures; provides general information and assistance to faculty and staff regarding advising services and processes; answers general questions regarding advising, financial aid, international, veterans and testing along with other student services functions.

10% - Triage and performs clerical and administrative office assistance; Participates work-related workshops. Maintains communication with staff and student services departments

5% - Performs other related duties as assigned

High school diploma or GED
Only eligible Federal Work Study students should apply

Desired Qualifications

A. Customer service experience - high volume environment.
B. Communication - comfortable with talking with Customers
C. Experience with technology platforms - Google Drive, email, MS Office, etc.
