What you will be doing

This Manager- Corporate Strategy is primarily responsible for advancing corporate strategy priorities through strategic frameworks, market landscape analysis, build-buy-partner analysis, and financial analysis to enable strategic choices within the US Pharmaceuticals & Animal Health Group. Additional responsibilities on a secondary basis will include M&A target search, evaluation and commercial due diligence efforts for executing potential acquisitions and divestitures. All of this work will support ongoing development of Cencora's long-term business plan under the primary direction of the VP, Strategy & Corporate Development

  • Assists the leadership with providing strategic direction for Cencora's business leaders in developing and executing strategic plans as well as identifying and evaluating acquisition targets.
  • Maintains industry-wide perspective on major trends, including macro-economic, customer, regulatory, technology, distribution channel, product and competitive trends; identifies implications for Cencora.
  • Follows competitive analysis and benchmarking to understand key areas of opportunity and development.
  • Supports efforts to align and integrate Cencora Corporation's strategic priorities with business unit strategies; ensures consistency and quality; creates and communicates short and long-term strategic messages, both internally and externally.
  • Works closely with the leadership to provide information, insights and recommendations to the Corporate Strategy & Development Office, Executive Management and the Board of Directors on business strategy, growth and opportunities.
  • Leads projects and assignments, which require commitment from interdepartmental and external resources.
  • Secondarily supports M&A activities including commercial due diligence complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like

RequiresBachelors Degree generally obtained from a top tier school. MBA or Masters Degree preferred. Normally requires a minimum of three (3) years directly related and progressively responsible experience in one of the following industries of healthcare services, distribution, pharmaceuticals, medical devices/technologies, life sciences, or other related field including management consulting, private equity/venture capital or investment banking.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive financial expertise; working knowledge of accounting
  • Knowledge of management consulting frameworks
  • Ideally knowledge of merger and acquisition activities including financial evaluations, due diligence, negotiations and closings.
  • Ability to address the complex interrelationships among factors that influence the solutions to business challenges in order to articulate key business strategies. Knowledge of healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and expresses ideas clearly, concisely and logically
  • Ability to make balanced and insightful decisions. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Pitchbook, Crunchbase, and/or SEC Edgar preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.

$95,800 - 147,620

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
