HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

As a Human Resources Generalist at Plymouth Housing, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining a positive and compliant work environment. Your responsibilities will span from conducting thorough investigations into employee complaints and grievances to providing guidance on HR matters to stakeholders. Collaborating closely with HR Business Partners and Legal, you'll ensure adherence to company policies and employment laws.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering support on a range of HR issues and fostering strong relationships to boost morale and retention. Your role will also involve updating procedures, monitoring turnover metrics, and ensuring compliance with employment standards.

Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we're not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING

  • Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance with policies and laws.
  • Provide guidance on managing employee relations issues and stay updated on relevant laws and trends.
  • Offer confidential consultation to managers for performance issues and escalate complex cases.
  • Draft clear, comprehensive, and legally compliant documentation for investigations.
  • Coordinate with the Leave and Accommodations Specialist on related issues.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback for process improvement.
  • Act as the primary HR contact for assigned departments, offering guidance and support.
  • Build positive relationships with employees and managers to enhance morale and retention.
  • Assist in updating and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor turnover and retention metrics to make recommendations.
  • Ensure collaboration with HR colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Manage the onboarding program for new employees.
  • Participate in developing HR-related trainings for managers and employees.
  • Administer performance management processes and collect related data.
  • Serve on committees as needed, such as safety and employee recognition.
  • Interpret and navigate federal, state, and local laws, and organizational policies.
  • Stay updated on best practices and compliance tools.
  • Conduct onsite visits to ensure compliance with employment standards.
  • Assist in OSHA 300 reporting and compliance.
  • Serve as backup to the Leave & Accommodation Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or an equal combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations or related HR functions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing investigation protocols and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and NLRA.
  • Must have reliable internet service.

SALARY

$88,462 to $98.779 Annually
