General Information:

JMU's Facilities Management is currently hiring for an IT System Administrator Lead. This is an in-office only position. The IT System Administrator Lead will provide direction to customers and Facilities Management in the utilization of all software programs. This position will manage software and technical support for departmental servers, hardware/software applications systems and networking applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties Include but are not limited to:

- Supporting of customers by effectively communicating, resolving and/or facilitating support to resolve IT problems and questions
- Providing of business solutions to meet the needs of JMU's community through analysis and design
- Reviewing of master calendar dates to project and preventative maintenance
- Developing, coordinating and adding JMU custom reports to software for testing
- Providing direction in the management of all hardware and software for FM to include inventory
- Providing leadership in analyzing technology advancements and providing recommendations for change, training and upgrades
- Working closely with product development vendors and managing program security processes
- Providing of system administrator responsibilities for all software programs across the FM department
- Maintaining of departmental servers and ensuring daily/weekly backups are performed

Qualifications:

- Maintains a high level of software knowledge
- Knowledge of best practice maintenance and software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of information systems/information technology trends
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently
- Advanced experience with Windows/desktop applications
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experienced in both oral and written communication skills
- Ability to serve as an example of providing exemplary customer service for the team
