Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is looking for Associate Clinic Director Intern.

This internship opportunity is a result of a strategic organizational initiative to expand existing healthcare sites and locations. The internship opportunity is a paid learning experience. Employment after completion of the internship will be based on performance and mastered competency of all training requirements. What You Will Learn: * We value our healthcare interns and want to ensure you receive a learning experience that fits your career goals. * You will become extremely knowledgeable in healthcare administration, quality/process improvement, working with healthcare professionals, working in a team-centered environment, working in a PCMH environment and understanding the right strategy and tactics to promote community engagement while balancing the demands of government relations. * You will learn the inner workings of healthcare finance and fiscal management and acquire the skills needed to effectively manage profit and loss and ensure attainment of projected net gain. * You will work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with department leaders and other professionals in the non-profit field. * You will learn from managers who have worked for many years in an accredited, award winning organization that is nationally recognized in its field.

Responsibilities:

  • Learns and demonstrates an understanding of LEAN and process improvement programs; demonstrates skills in leading and driving positive change through LEAN methodology. Add some PCMH requirements on team-based health care, patient centered healthcare, etc.
  • Learns and demonstrates an understanding of programs, services, and populations served; demonstrates skills in managing a variety of clinic operations and service lines.-
  • Learns and demonstrates knowledge of healthcare administration; demonstrates skills to strategically and tactically promote community engagement while balancing the demands of government relations and regulations. Understands the regulatory environment of a community healthcare organization.
  • Learns and demonstrates knowledge of healthcare finance and fiscal management; demonstrates skills required to effectively manage profit and loss and ensure attainment of projected net gain. Learns and demonstrates knowledge of supervisory practices; demonstrates skills required to effectively supervise a clinic team.

Requirements:

  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony * Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Non-Profit Management or other related discipline required / Master's degree preferred; MBA a plus
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
  • Possess a social consciousness demonstrated by previous volunteer or paid employment in a mission-centered company.
  • Bilingual/Multilingual language competency is desirable.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

$65,000.00 - $65,000.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
