As Senior HR Director of Operations, you'll play a crucial role in aligning business priorities with talent strategy for Blue Origin's largest function. Blue Origin Operations includes supply chain, quality, high volume and high touch labor disciplines, testing, and additional mission-critical activities. You'll act as a strategic partner to the SVP, Operations, and VP, of Test & Flight Operations, developing HR strategy and initiatives and playing a leadership role on the Blue Origin HR and Operations business teams. You will leverage your deep knowledge of the business to deliver a people strategy that enables this organization to grow and scale while navigating through ambiguity and recognizing appropriate stages to introduce effective structure and process while driving momentum.

As part of a coordinated HR team, you will lead collaboration with HR solution centers and shared services including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Compensation, Analytics, Diversity-Equity-Inclusion (DEI), and Employee Relations to meet the HR needs of a rapidly growing Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set the vision, direction, and culture for a team of experienced HRBPs in support of Blue Origin Operations
  • Work with senior leadership to build and implement a People Strategy that will support growth and operational excellence
  • Represent Blue HR and influence/commit to corporate HR strategy, programs, processes, and initiatives that drive success for Operations
  • Oversee and influence workforce development programs and plans for Operations
  • Provide expertise to HRBPs and Operations leadership on talent management, leadership development, coaching, compensation, and organizational development (e.g., workforce planning, business unit restructures, interpersonal planning, incentive plan development) to enable the implementation of Operations strategy, policies, projects, and change initiatives.
  • Guide and collaborate with all levels of HR Partners as a strategic HR subject matter authority.
  • Develop and investigate multiple hypotheses, using a variety of HR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and find opportunities to improve business performance and/or enhance employee engagement.
  • Design and implement approaches for diagnosing and improving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement, including executive coaching to leaders.
  • Educate, mentor, and partner with senior leaders on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Provide HR policy/directive/process guidance and interpretation.
  • Work with Learning & Development specialists to identify training and executive coaching needs for Operations leaders.
  • Participate in the continual development/improvement of HR programs, such as Workforce Planning, Recruiting, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years of experience in Human Resources, concentrated in operations, manufacturing, or production groups.
  • Demonstrated leadership in various HR functional areas, especially organizational development, talent management, and change management.
  • Demonstrated experience determining and mitigating current and forecasted workforce challenges, and driving resolution that supports business goals in operations or production environments.
  • A deep knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations regarding both exempt and non-exempt labor.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
  • Advanced degree in Business, Human Capital Management, Interpersonal Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience with process improvement approaches (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $217,698- $304,777
