Summary

MaineHealth is actively accepting applications for an Associate Financial Planning Analyst. This is a hybrid opportunity within MaineHealth. The successful candidate will be working with team members at 102 Hutchins Drive in Portland, Maine two to three days a week. Will have the opportunity to work from home on days not in the office.

Position Summary

The overall purpose and function of the job is to provide assistance in the completion of the Financial Planning department responsibilities as it relates to budgets and financial reporting. The position is responsible for aiding in the accurate preparation of division operating budgets, ongoing financial reporting, detailed payroll analysis, as well as assisting with expense reduction and revenue enhancement initiatives. This position will also perform special projects as assigned by the Manager of Financial Planning.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)





    1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Knowledge of accounting, finance, modeling, and reimbursement principles is normally acquired through completion of a degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    2. License/Certifications: N/A
    3. Experience: One to three years' experience in accounting or finance and the analysis of accounting reports or equivalent healthcare setting. New graduates considered. Experience in a health care environment is preferred, but not required.
    4. Ability to function within a rapid time period.
    5. Analytical skills to collect pertinent information necessary to analyze complex problems, formulate sound solutions and implement those solutions.
    6. Strong organizational skills and ability to produce work consistent with department standards of accuracy and presentation.
    7. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
    8. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of financial management.
    9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, financial computing, and an ability to quickly acquire a working understanding of Maine Medical Center's financial software.
    10. Interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel in multiple disciplines on a variety of complex issues.
