The Foundation We are the largest nonprofitfighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. Founded on a simple premise: people everywhere, regardless of identity or circumstances, should have the chance to live healthy, productive lives. We believe our employees should reflect the rich diversity of the global populations we aim to serve. We provide an exceptional benefits package to employees and their families which include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no premiums, generous paid time off, paid family leave, foundation-paid retirement contribution, regional holidays, and opportunities to engage in several employee communities. As a workplace, we're committed to creating an environment for you to thrive both personally and professionally. The Team The foundation's U.S. Program (USP) works to expand access to life-changing opportunities. The evidence is still clear that having an education after high school is critical for success in today's economy and we are deeply committed to transforming postsecondary education to become a better and more equitable producer of credentials of value for all students. Critically important is that race, ethnicity, income, and wealth are not predictors of student success. To drive the change we believe is necessary, we invest in large-scale transformation of postsecondary policy and practice that results in increased attainment of credentials of value with special attention to addressing the systemic inequities that impact Black, Latino, and Indigenous students, and students from low-income backgrounds. The Postsecondary Success strategy supports institutional transformation, the development of technologies, and the sharing of those technologies and other tools, practices and policies that lead to increased attainment of credentials of value. Our aim is to help higher education evolve to more effectively deliver economic mobility for students and to more fully realize the public benefits that accrue when more adults earn meaningful credentials equitably across all races, ethnicities, and levels of income and wealth. Your Role The Senior Program Officer of Postsecondary AI Innovations will lead the foundation's efforts to invest in and develop research and development (R&D) initiatives related to AI in service of improving teaching and learning in first-year introductory courses in higher education, especially math. This individual will develop and manage a set of investments to advance our understanding of AI innovations and applications in the field, to accelerate development and testing of AI technologies and tools, and to document key learnings and insights that will inform and adjust our work. They will coordinate their investment strategy and learnings with other strategies across the US Program Division (e.g. K-12, Pathways, Data, etc) as well as other portfolios in the Postsecondary Success Strategy (notably our Digitally Holistic Student Supports portfolio) to ensure cohesion and maximize impact of our work. The Senior Program Officer of Postsecondary AI Innovations will report directly to the Deputy Director of Digitally Enabled Teaching & Learning. What You'll Do
