Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD seeks to add an experienced and proactive IT Manager to the Infrastructure team. Under the direction of the Director of Infrastructure, this position has overall responsibility to manage resources and activities in support of ITS and Enterprise systems. This people-leader role uses strategy and experience to plan, design, acquire, and implement enterprise information systems to support customer needs and enhance the student experience. This position represents ITS on various districtwide projects and committees. The IT Manager is someone who demonstrates a commitment to service-excellence, innovation, student success, integrity and diversity in the performance of job duties. Essential Functions 30% - Coordinates and manages activities related to the design, configuration, and implementation of servers, infrastructure, and systems (e.g. server hardware, cloud-based infrastructure, and platforms as a service, virtualization, Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Entra-based services, storage, enterprise backups) inclusive of testing of configurations; communicates with internal customers, network and security teams, and vendors to ensure MCCCD is operating in a secure environment in accordance with industry best practices; coordinates after-hours coverage for enterprise-systems 30% - Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff; directs staff recruitment, development and evaluation; identifies staff training needs and presents professional development and growth opportunities 15% - Serves as project coordinator on enterprise-wide systems projects, including development of the project plan, monitoring and reporting on project progress, and advising managers and stakeholders of risks and mitigation strategies; prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects 15% - Develops and maintains relationships with vendors; manages vendor contracts and services in accordance with SLAs; assists in contract negotiations per MCCCD purchasing policies; remediates and/or escalates vendor issues in a timely manner 10% - Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a directly related field and five (5) years of professional experience in managing organizational infrastructure, which includes two years of supervisory experience. OR Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a directly related field and seven (7) years of professional experience in managing organizational infrastructure, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience. OR High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of professional experience in managing organizational infrastructure, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience. Desired Qualifications
