This position will cover the Eastern half of the United States.Candidates may live in any state within the Eastern United States in close proximity to a major airport

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Medical Lead - Neurology (East) will lead, coach, train, and provide direction to a team of Neurology Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in assigned region. Though active field engagement, they will support and manage MSL cultivation of strategic relationships and partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and institutions and drive high-impact scientific exchange. The position ensures regional implementation and seamless execution of defined medical strategies and tactics across assigned products. This role will lead either general MSL training or Field Medical insight generation, distillation, and socialization at a national level. The position will be highly collaborative and will drive consistent communication and compliant partnership with cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP



  • Partner with National Director to execute Field Medical strategies, set clear priorities for MSLs, and adopt standard operating procedures to ensure accountability and performance excellence
  • Direct the development of MSL territory and key account plans, ensuring analytical rigor in KOL identification and prioritization, institution profiling, and strategic KOL engagement planning
  • Actively direct MSL attendance and activities at congresses and meetings, including post-conference reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Oversee insight generation activities, distilling and communicating high-impact insights to ensure effective integration into strategic plans
  • Design and execute MSL training aligned with overarching neurology strategy and grounded in current field insights and trends



MSL DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT



  • Provide 1:1 coaching and foster talent development though regular ride-alongs, performance discussions, and training to ensure MSL excellence in scientific knowledge, business acumen, communication skills, and Lundbeck behavioral competencies.
  • Partner with MSLs to establish and strengthen professional relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and other stakeholders, ensuring MSLs are equipped with comprehensive scientific knowledge, tools, and communication skills
  • In collaboration with National Director, set individual and team performance goals for MSLs, and continuously monitor and report metrics to ensure progress toward strategic objectives



RESOURCING AND COLLABORATION



  • Manage MSL resources, budgets, and individual MSL spend diligently, overseeing administrative activities including appropriate resourcing and staffing for specific products or initiatives
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues (Medical Directors, Medical Excellence, Clinical Development, Global Medical, etc.) to execute therapeutic area strategy and tactics
  • Liaise with study teams to direct MSL support for clinical trials and serve as the point of contact for dissemination in congresses and meetings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Field Medical activities with broader business objectives, including Commercial & Market Access
  • As a team, Neurology RDs will be responsible for leading insight generation, training, and socialization for Neurology Field Medical team



REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:



  • Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, or NP) in clinical or life sciences
  • 7+ years of healthcare, pharma, or biotech experience with5+ years as an MSL and/or similar field-based medical position (e.g., Medical Science Outcomes Liaison, etc.) or in an advanced internal strategic role (e.g. Medical Director, Medical Excellence, etc.)
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills and mindset with demonstrated experience in data-driven region and territory planning
  • Leadership experience with Field Medical insight training, generation, distillation, and reporting
  • Understanding of the neurology therapeutic space, clinical research processes, and regulatory guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated excellence and success in leadership, coaching, collaborating, building/maintaining relationships, and encouraging teamwork across multiple departments within a pharmaceutical company
  • Results oriented with ability to proactively find areas of improvement and efficiency, bring solutions to leadership, and follow-through on the solution
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Agile mindset inclusive of strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Driving is an essential duty of this job; must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record that meets company requirements.

PREFERREDEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:



  • Accredited advanced healthcare degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, PsyD, MD, NP, or PA)
  • Previous experience leading teams
  • Experience in Migraine/Headache medicine
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload when facing multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing demands
  • Ability to understand interdependencies of the broader organization, the importance of timely responsiveness, and the ability to manage expectations of internal and external key stakeholders



TRAVEL:



  • Must live within assigned region (e.g. East or West) with close proximity to major airport
  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 50% domestically. International travel may be required



The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based onvarious factorssuch as the candidate's geographical location, qualifications, skills,competenciesandproficiencyfor the role.Salary Pay Range: $200,000 - $235,000 and eligibility for a 20%bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.Benefits for this position include flexible paid time off (PTO), health benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, and company match 401k.
