About This Role

We are seeking an eager and dedicated Human Factors Engineer co-op who is passionate about improving lives through design and technology. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure product usability and safety through assessment and validation.

This is a 6 month co-op. The person will be expected to start June/July and must be able to commit to the full 6 months. Will need to currently live in the SFB area and will be expected to work in the office 2-3 days a week and then remote the remainder.

Responsibilities



  • Leverage human factors standards and best practices to inform new product designs and ensure concepts support safe, effective, and satisfying use.
  • Contribute to human factors documentation, including formative and summative test plans and reports, expert reviews, use-related risk analyses, use specifications, known problems analyses, and Human Factors Engineering reports.
  • Support the planning, conduct, and reporting of various HF activities, focus groups, formative usability tests, and HF validation (summative usability) tests.
  • Consolidate feedback from HF studies into meaningful design insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Perform thoughtful and thorough root cause analysis for use-related problems that arise during hands-on usability tests.
  • Understand the regulatory imperative for medical device human factors, including relevant human factors standards and guidance documents, such as IEC 62366 and FDA's final HF guidance.
  • Assist with qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis to support design recommendations.

Qualifications



  • Graduating Spring 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree or Currently pursuing a Master's degree in HFE, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Science, or Biomedical Engineering
  • Previous demonstrated experience working on HFE projects.


What's In It For You

If you work in San Francisco CA for a minimum of 8 hours per week for 90 consecutive days, you will be eligible to participate in iRhythm's health benefit plans. You will accrue time for Paid Sick Leave in accordance with Company policy and will be eligible to participate in some of iRhythm's wellness programs. You will be eligible to participate in the iRhythm 401K program once your work history reaches 1,000 hours.

Estimated Pay Range
$30 $36 USD
