What to Expect?

This position will be the backup for the Print Room Operator. They will work directly with the Production Planner. The Digital Print Operator will review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing. Monitor quality of job output for image quality. Operate high resolution, variable print imaging equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues under the constraints of production schedules and pressures. When not in the Print Room the associate will be a machine operator in the manufacturing plant

On a daily basis our Machine Operator:

  • Operate digital print equipment to optimal production standards.

  • Produce digital products to customer specifications and quality standards.

  • Ability to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment, and in addition, diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems.

  • Excellent knowledge of file manipulation and file formats for digital print.

  • Adjust artwork and software parameters to assure the highest quality reproduction.

  • Maintain printer's functionality through preventive maintenance measures.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with systematic problem-solving methods.

  • Maintain and update all required documentation and production records including job specific information and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively and objectively within your team and maintain strong communication skills with the team leader and department supervisor.

  • Perform quality inspections on incoming materials and documents.

  • Perform documentation for production, downtime, and waste management.

  • Monitor and take steps to eliminate waste and maximize production flow.

  • Label masters and mark master's correctly.

  • Maintain all machine functions including setup, breakdown, production settings, and adjustments.

  • Perform efficient product changeovers and perform general housekeeping duties.

  • Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, label material and film.

  • Maintain inventory levels.

  • Perform any other duties, as assigned by management.

What You Will Need:

  • High school graduate or GED preferred

  • Digital press experience, with a minimum of 2 years printing experience.

  • Proficiency in industrial and business mathematical computations essential as well as computer skills to include familiarity with a J.D. Edwards AS400 or similar materials platform and literacy in MS Office Suite

  • Must be able to read and write English. Bilingual in Spanish desired, but not required.

  • possess good verbal & written communication skills.

  • Must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

  • Ability to learn other processes and be able to work independently.

  • Ability to read work order instructions and carry out directions as necessary required.

  • Strong communications skills with the ability to work with a variety of departments in an efficient and professional manner, as well as the ability to multi-task.
