JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision on water resources/roadway/highway/bridge/traffic design projects as the primary focus with possible exposure to inspection as well.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
  • Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
  • Provide support to Engineering staff members as needed (drafting, computations, reviewing/proofing, etc.)
  • Assisting with field work as needed (local travel).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required.
  • Previous design experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
