Program Coordinator - Michigan Immunization Coalition

Title: Program Coordinator - Michigan Immunization Coalition

Location: Remote/Virtual

Purpose: The Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of re-launching Michigan's statewide immunization coalition, currently known as the (AIM). Management of coalition outreach and engagement (e.g., coalition committees, board of directors, and educational outreach) is a key function of this role. The Program Coordinator will identify and sustain statewide partnerships and facilitate collaborative program planning. In partnership with the coalition board of directors, the Program Coordinator will create new committees to support the mission and vision of Michigan's relaunched statewide, lifespan coalition. The Program Coordinator will schedule and manage committee meetings and projects. Furthermore, the Coordinator will assist with fund development and grant management, and the development of the coalition as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Program Coordinator is charged with implementing evidence-based immunization interventions to inform, educate, and motivate health care providers and the public throughout Michigan. Coalition initiatives must align with the coalition's strategic plan and funding requirements. Some travel required.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop application and apply for 501(c)(3).
  • Assist with fund development and fundraising strategies.
  • Initiate and assist with grant applications.
  • Develop board of directors and manage ongoing board activities: creating processes, coordinating meetings, developing application and membership roles.
  • Administer statewide evaluations to assess coalition impact and reach.
  • Implement workplan goals and objectives.
  • Design and manage provider and consumer based educational programs that address immunization across the lifespan, including live and web-based continuing education and outreach.
  • Aid in creating and disseminating print and electronic educational material, in addition to maintaining the coalition website and social media platforms.
  • Design continuing education/interprofessional development opportunities for immunization providers.
  • Maintain coalition membership by establishing statewide partnerships among public and private organizations that support immunization across the lifespan.
  • Coordinate with governmental agencies, healthcare providers, school-based partners, and other immunization stakeholders to increase access to immunizations while establishing community-based partnerships.

  • Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: A bachelor's degree in public health or a health-related field; master's degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in one or more of the following: Public Health Practice, Nonprofit Management, Health Education, Nursing, Program Administration, or another health-related field. Experience with program planning, program evaluation, public speaking, event planning, group facilitation for small and large audiences, grant writing, grant management, and fundraising.

  • Versed in public health program planning and evaluation.
  • Confident public speaker.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Knowledgeable of grant funding opportunities and fundraising strategies.
  • Familiar with CNE, CME, and ACPE application processes.
  • Versed in data collection and analysis, evaluation design and analysis.
  • Experienced in group facilitation.
  • Knowledgeable of curriculum development and program delivery for all ages.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to carry out the vision and mission of the coalition.
  • Team player.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and verbal with effective listening skills.
  • Self-motivated and accountable.
  • Detail and action oriented.
  • Outgoing and energetic.
  • Flexible; adaptable; able to change priorities as necessary.
  • Fiscally astute with the ability to manage budgets and create financial reports.
  • Accessible; responsive to the needs of team members, coalition members, and partnering organizations.



Work Environment and Physical Requirements: This position will work remotely.

Selected candidates must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Requires some statewide travel and occasional out-of-state travel. Flexible work schedule.
