Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities, management of all facility projects, and in-house design services.

We Require

  • Two years of installation, material handling, and inventory control experience of modular office systems furniture in various commercial and/or government/institutional environments
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation

We Also Value

  • Current Herman Miller factory trained installer certification
  • Forklift Operator Certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Five years of installation, material handling and inventory control experience of modular office systems furniture in various commercial and/or government/institutional environments
  • Two years experience involving a variety of warehouse duties or handling of freestanding case goods

Job Contributions

  • Build a relationship with county departments by providing great customer service through excellent communication skills.
  • Responsibilities include: install/delivery schedule, delays and unforeseen conditions, updates on project completion timelines
  • Assess performance of work installation and administer timeliness of task completion by installation team to assemble and disassemble modular office systems furniture
  • Performs maintenance duties including modifications/renovations, assessment of warranty to all furniture and equipment, moves/repairs, and cleaning of products after install and prior to returning to storage/inventory
  • Ensures all applicable safety requirements are established and met for the operation
  • Operates various manual/power tools and warehouse material handling equipment including electric and manual pallet jack
  • Uses County vehicles, including driving a 24' box truck with a lift gate to travel to vendor locations, other agencies, and throughout the County to pick-up and deliver FF&E
  • Responds to requests for service either directly or using facilities work order system
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of ancillary furniture and how to install/disassemble

Working Conditions

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass MCSO background check for access to secured County facilities
  • Exerting over 100 lbs. occasionally, 50-100 lbs. frequently, or up to 20-50 lbs. constantly
  • Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards and noise and vibration
  • Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor, ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
  • The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties & responsibilities the employee maybe exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
