PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and arranging daily outbound transportation activities and communicating with the carriers for the OC Lumber business by finding solutions that work for both the customer and Owens Corning. The Logistics Analyst will consolidate orders and assign daily freight to the Owens Corning carrier base to meet delivery dates of customer orders. The Logistics Analyst is responsible for managing cost in support of outbound logistics through tactical management of freight. The incumbent will collaborate very closely with Customers, Carriers, Customer Service Specialists, Material Planners, and other OC organizations as necessary to identify and troubleshoot issues to ultimately deliver our product on-time and damage free to a growing business. This role will follow and demonstrate the Owens Corning values, standards and purpose.

A successful candidate must have outstanding analytical skills and the drive to act in a rapid-pace environment. They are adept at creating partnerships with various functions and must have outstanding analytical and communication skills, with a tendency for starting action.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensure meeting on-time delivery promise for our customers.
  • Manage through shipment data related to shipping cost, damages, or wrong shipments.
  • Consolidation of orders for OC customers in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Recognize and act on customer opportunities.
  • Completes robust carrier reviews quarterly to manage performance to, and alignment with our service metrics, cost targets, and partnership goals.
  • Support OC Lumber plant activities to ensure timely loading.
  • Verification of loading and delivery of materials
  • Monthly creation of a transportation cost forecast and reconciliation of the freight cost line of the financial statements.
  • Implementation and achievement of Transportation KPI's (OTDCP, Tender Acceptance, Optimization. Etc)
  • Provides key input to the Logistics Sourcing team on service requirements and performance.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations and SAP systems.
  • Managing Carrier Capacity and Compliance
  • Accountable for driving OC Lumber logistics productivity initiatives
  • Develop sustainable processes to ensure the customer's experience is exceeded by integrating the role into the customer's processes to allow OC to grow with the customers identified by the sales strategy
  • Participate in customer visits (both onsite and at customer locations) to better understand customer needs and requirements and how the OC Lumber team can grow the business


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Logistics, Supply Chain, or Materials Management role



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Exposure to large integrated software systems (ERP, MRP, SAP, TM)
  • Experience making high-impact decisions in fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with utilizing Computer programs and Microsoft Office Products
  • Analytical experience with Power Bi

  • Ability to develop and maintain Power Bi reports.
